I Bought the Fully On-Chain Prop Firm "SizeProp"! Features, Perks & How to Pass (Honest Review)

Table of Contents

Hello! This is the team at Candy Drops.

Lately, the concept of a "Prop Firm" has been creating quite a buzz, especially among international trading communities. Simply put, it is a platform where they lend capital to talented traders and split the profits generated.

Until now, mainstream prop firms typically relied on traditional Web2 forex accounts or somewhat sketchy (?) proprietary platforms. However, "SizeProp," a fully on-chain prop firm powered by Hyperliquid, has finally arrived.

"Could this be an incredibly efficient way to utilize capital...?" Curiosities piqued, I decided to purchase a $50,000 account and jump right into the action!

In this column, I will break down its key features, realistic pros and cons, and the strategies I believe are crucial to beating the challenge.

What is "SizeProp" Anyway? The Biggest Feature is Being "Fully On-Chain"

The biggest differentiator from traditional prop firms is that all settlements and trades are conducted fully on-chain with high transparency.

  • Settlements (Payouts): Held and governed in yield-bearing stablecoins (such as USDC).
  • Actual Trading Environment: Executed on the lightning-fast, highly liquid "Hyperliquid" platform.

While choices for on-chain prop firms were practically non-existent before, SizeProp offers a highly smooth and seamless experience by leveraging Hyperliquid's infrastructure.

Furthermore, Hyperliquid is not just about crypto (Perps); it is actively expanding into pre-markets (XYZ) and RWAs (Real World Assets, stock tokens, etc.). The broad spectrum of tradable assets allows traders to pivot according to market trends, which I feel is a massive, unique advantage.

SizeProp Basic Rules: First, Pass the "Challenge"!

As is standard with prop firms, you cannot freely manage large sums of money right out of the gate. First, you must pass an "Evolution (Evaluation) phase" to prove that you are a highly skilled trader capable of managing risk.

The Plan I Chose: "$50,000 Account (1-Step)"

SizeProp's options start from a minimum of around $17 and go all the way up to $100,000 accounts. For this run, I purchased the "50k Account 1-Step Challenge" (you can buy it quickly using a credit card or crypto).

The rules are very straightforward.

[1-Step Challenge Clear Conditions]

If you successfully clear this, you transition to a "Funded Account," allowing you to cash out 80% to up to 95% (depending on the plan) of the subsequent trading profits as your reward.

On the $50,000 1-step account I purchased, the daily loss limit is 3% of the account (resetting daily based on the balance at 1:00 PM JST), and the overall account drawdown limit is 5%. If you record a loss exceeding these limits, you fail the evaluation and instantly lose access to the account. These are undeniably strict conditions.

Pros and "Brutal Cons" After Hands-on Testing

💡 The Pro: Mind-blowing "Capital Efficiency" from Minimal Funds

For instance, say you only have $500 on hand. If you put that into a standard offshore forex broker or a DEX and try to hold a $50,000 position, you would need 100x leverage—meaning a split-second market reversal will instantly liquidate (bankrupt) you.

However, by paying a few hundred dollars for the evaluation fee (account purchase cost) with SizeProp to secure a $50,000 prop account, you are effectively operating your initial capital with tens of times more efficiency. For those with a reproducible trading strategy, the speed of growth is completely on a different level compared to compounding your own funds slowly.

⚠️ The Delicate & Brutal Con: One Wrong Drawdown and You're Instantly Out

The golden rule and the biggest hurdle across all prop firms is the "drawdown (maximum loss rate)."

Depending on the model, it is strictly defined down to the dollar—such as "3% Daily" or "5% Overall Account." The exact moment your balance drops even a dollar below these thresholds, the account is instantly "disqualified (failed)."

Needless to say, you won't get a single penny back from your initial account purchase fee.

My Personal "SizeProp Evaluation Strategy"

After actually buying the account, one thing became absolutely clear: "If you approach this with your usual high-leverage mindset, you will throw your challenge fee down the drain in the blink of an eye."

The strategy to pass boils down to this:

  • Commit 100% to trading that minimizes drawdown to the absolute limit.
  • Don't aim for a single home-run shot; steadily build up expected value to hit $55,000.

Instead of chasing massive, flashy profits all at once, your "defensive grit"—how well you control your losses—is what's truly being put to the test.

Since SizeProp does not impose constraints on the number of trades or a strict deadline to reach the 10% target, I believe it is crucial to structure positions while constantly being mindful of the risk and loss allocated per entry.

Conclusion: Who is this recommended for?

To be perfectly honest, I absolutely do not recommend this for "complete trading beginners." It will only result in losing your money easily.

However, it can be a god-tier tool for the following types of traders:

  • Those with a decent amount of trading experience who understand the absolute weight of risk management.
  • Those who have a reproducible strategy but feel held back by a small starting bankroll (personal capital).

Starting with a minimal capital scale of a few hundred dollars to aim for a $10,000 to $100,000 trading environment—and doing so in a fully on-chain, transparent ecosystem.

I will also be pushing forward with my trades under strict risk management mode, aiming to pass this $50,000 account first!

By the way, here is my current progress. I was feeling confident about hitting $5,000 with a single position using about 2x leverage, but the price retraced right back to my entry point (crying).

It seems a steady, compounding style is much better than trying to pass the test with a single execution.

If this caught your attention, why not test your skills by starting with a low-tier plan (from $17~)?

Will I manage to safely pass the test? Let's find out in the next article!
