Skatechain Project Details (Information updated on November 3rd!)

Skatechain is a Stateless Layer2 blockchain that connects each layer and modularized L2s as a hub chain.

Skate improves fragmented liquidity and connections between networks by supporting interoperability at both the network and application levels.

Several other projects offer solutions aimed at resolving application liquidity issues, such as cross-chain smart contracts. However, each project has drawbacks. For example, integration with non-EVM networks can be difficult, and developers need to deploy using smart contracts. Skatechain solves such problems utilizing Nollie (EVM Hub Chain), Preconfirmation AVS (Eigenlayer), and the Intent Execution Network.

Skatechain Architecture

  • Nollie functions as an EVM hub chain, acting as a central hub for all kernel contracts and managing application logic and global state. Currently, the testnet is built based on OP Plasma.
  • AVS (Active Validation Service) secures communication between different chains and pre-validates intents.
  • In the Intent Execution Network, user intents are efficiently processed by a distributed group of executors, facilitating smooth settlement across multiple chains.

User Flow

  1. Intent Creation Users issue intents on different chains (EVM, TON, Solana, etc.), specifying desired actions and results.
  2. Executor Allocation Through the Skate infrastructure, executors on the network compete to process intents and execute the necessary logic in contracts on the Nollie chain to update application state.
  3. Preconfirmation If interaction between different chains is required, AVS validates this.
  4. Settlement After validation by AVS, the selected executor completes the inter-chain processing.

Shadow Mainnet (Updated Information on November 3rd)

Skate has announced "Shadow Mainnet," the first phase of the Skate Mainnet launch. This launch will enable users to interact with Stateless apps in real-time on various blockchain VMs.

Skate's Evolution

Skate has been providing a unified app experience across different chains and VMs through the Skateboard Workshop on the Nollie Testnet. With the introduction of a decentralized trust engine in Shadow Mainnet, the following features will be launched on Mainnet:

Skate Hub Chain

Operating as an Ethereum L2, the Skate Hub Chain features a dual data availability solution using Avail and EigenDA, enhancing scalability and resilience. The Skate Hub Chain maintains a consistent state and logic layer across different VMs, such as EVM, TonVM, and SolanaVM, enabling efficient cross-chain operations.

Preconfirmation AVS on Eigenlayer Mainnet

Leveraging Othentic's technology, Skate's Preconfirmation AVS ensures secure and fast finality for its stateless infrastructure, verifying that the Skate Executor Network is performing tasks correctly as a decentralized trust source. AVS achieves crypto-economic security and fast finality, facilitating smooth inter-chain intent processing.

The features of Preconfirmation AVS are as follows:

  • Decentralized Source of Trust: Validates all task data from TaskBox, ensuring that tasks performed by the Skate Executor Network on peripheral chains are always valid.
  • Crypto-economic Security: Ensures that executors act honestly and execute the intents they undertake.
  • Fast Finality: All intents processed on Skate are considered "Finalized" once validated by AVS, enabling rapid finality for cross-chain intents.

First Stateless App: Polymarket Pilot

Skate has launched Polymarket on the TON blockchain as its first stateless app. This allows Telegram users to directly access Polygon's prediction market on TON without the need for a bridge. Skate's stateless design enables seamless app usage across different VMs like TON and Polygon.

In the future, Skate plans to expand support to Solana and other EVM-based chains like Mantle, promoting app adoption and providing access to diverse blockchain environments.

As part of this initial launch, Skate is initially offering only the "2024 US Presidential Election Winner Prediction" with a maximum bet limit of $1,000 to encourage users to utilize the platform and help with system load testing.

Despite limiting the maximum bet size to $1,000, the trading volume on TON's Polymarket reached $250,000 within just 48 hours of launch.
